How to Create the Ultimate At-Home Spa Day

How to Create the Ultimate At-Home Spa Day

As relaxing and rejuvenating as a day at the spa can be, it’s not always feasible to spend an entire day at a spa center. So why not bring the spa to you? There are a handful of ways you can pamper yourself in the comfort of your own home.

Here is a hydrating head-to-toe treatment routine you can try next time you’re in the mood for an evening of self-care. Whether you give yourself all these treatments or just one, your skin (and stress levels) are sure to thank you.

A Hydration-Infused Bath

A spa night isn’t a spa night without a little bit of time in the tub. Start off your at-home spa session with a relaxing soak. To give this classic ritual a skincare-minded twist, try adding some of the Trilipiderm Hydrating All-Body Serum to the warm water (about one capful if you’re using the full-size bottle or 3 droppers full if you’re using the mini version).

Packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and hydrating squalane, this serum will seamlessly infuse moisture into the skin while you soak, leaving the skin feeling silky smooth as soon as you step out.

Pro tip: Want to give your serum-infused bath an extra spa-like feel? Try adding a drop or two of essential oil to the water to add a touch of aromatherapy. Lavender, chamomile, and sandalwood all smell great and are known to have hydrating benefits.

The Ultimate At-Home Facial

After you’ve dried off from the bath, it’s time to focus on the face. To create the ultimate at-home facial, you’ll want to begin by reaching for the Hydrating All-Body Serum once again—this time using it as a pre-cleansing oil to dissolve all traces of makeup and dirt.

Next, apply the multitasking Trilipiderm Hydrating Exfoliant Cleanser. Powered by our ultra-hydrating Medasynnian Lipid Complex, this cleanser tackles three separate tasks at once as you massage it into the skin: It gently exfoliates, sloughing away dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant complexion; it infuses the skin with a mega-dose of hydration, and it locks in moisture thanks to plant-derived squalane oil.

After you’ve thoroughly cleansed, rinsed the product off, and patted the skin dry, lather on our best-selling Trilipiderm Rehydration Night Creme. Consider this final step the grand finale in this hydration-focused facial.

In this formula, we replicate protective ceramides using meadowfoam estolides, a unique plant oil that’s able to fill in any microscopic hydration gaps in the skin to effectively lock in all of the creme’s hydrating benefits and boosting its efficacy overall. As you finish up your spa night and slip off to sleep, this treatment works overnight to stimulate skin cell renewal, plump fine lines, boost collagen production, and fight free radicals.

A Hydration-Focused Manicure

With your skin silky smooth and your face fully refreshed, it’s time to give your hands a little bit of love. All that hand sanitizing we’re doing is key to keeping us germ-free, but it’s certainly taking a toll on our skin health. Here’s the perfect way to restore all that lost hydration.

If your hands are feeling particularly parched, try warming up a cap-full of the Trilipderm All-Over Body Serum in the microwave just until it’s warm but not too hot (be sure you lightly dip a fingertip into the warmed serum to test the temperature). Then, massage the serum into the hands, paying special attention to the cuticle area.

Warming  the serum before applying it can help to increase absorption. Warm oil can absorb deeper and faster into the skin than cool oil. To really pamper those hands, you might try slipping on a pair of moisturizing gloves immediately afterward to really lock in moisture. Leave these on for about 30 minutes before moving on to applying a nail polish of your choice.

Hot Oil Hair Hair Mask

If your hair is feeling particularly coarse, brittle, or dry, your go-to conditioner may need a little bit of backup. Enter, a hot oil hair treatment. This classic conditioning treatment uses warm oil to seal the hair cuticle, which, in turn, can strengthen and protect the hair. It even has benefits for the scalp: massaging warm oil around the roots can provide dandruff relief, and can help to increase blood flow, which may help with hair growth.

Here’s yet another time when the Trilipiderm’s Hydrating All-Body Serum can come into play. This product’s blend of nourishing plant-based oils makes for an ideal ready-to-use hair treatment.

To do a hot oil hair mask, you’ll want to begin with clean, tangle-free hair (it can be damp or dry). Similar to the serum-infused manicure, you’ll want to warm up about 3-4 tablespoons worth of serum in the microwave until it’s quite warm but not too hot. Dab a bit on the inside of your wrist to test the temperature.

Pour the warm oil into your hands and massage it into the hair from the ends to the roots, paying extra attention to any dry ends. You’ll also want to take a moment to really massage the scalp. Once the hair is saturated with the warm oil, wrap it up in a shower cap and wait up to 20 minutes. For really dry hair, you can even leave the oil in overnight. When you’re ready, rinse the oil out under warm water. The result: hair that immediately feels silkier, shinier, and intensely hydrated.
