Aging skin is increasingly susceptible to lipid depletion: the loss of natural compounds in skin’s surface. This lipid loss occurs with age and compromises skin’s natural protective barrier, resulting in visible signs of accelerated aging, as skin loses its ability to effectively self-repair. As a result, visible signs of aging may appear more pronounced, in the form of skin roughness, uncomfortable tightness, dullness, and loss of
facial fullness.
We’ve replicated moisture barrier-building ceramides with estolides, a unique substance derived from plant oil. Like ceramides, estolides fill in any microscopic hydration gaps in the skin, effectively locking in all of the formula’s hydrating benefits and boosting its efficacy overall.
The skin’s natural esters are emulated in our formulas meadowfoam delta-lactone, an ester derived from the fatty acids of meadowfoam seed oil. When just a touch of this rare ingredient is incorporated into skincare products, it helps provide balanced hydration while also greatly improving the skin’s tone and texture, often giving it that super smooth, freshly moisturized look and feel.
Cholesterol is mimicked using phytosterols, cholesterol-like molecules found in certain plant-based foods (like sunflower seed oil and safflower seed oil). Phytosterols help to soothe irritated or damaged skin through their ability to hydrate and boost cell regeneration. Phytosterols also come with potent anti-aging benefits that help protect against damaging environmental factors, keeping the skin supple and youthful-looking.
MEADASYNIAN LIPID COMPLEX
The hero ingredient found in many of Trilipiderm skincare products is our proprietary Medasynnian Lipid Complex. This unique complex is a carefully balanced combination of two natural oils: Meadowfoam seed oil and Abyssinian oil.
